Gerade eben komme ich vom Friseur zurück: ist wirklich gut geworden! Frau Klang (meine Stammfriseurin) wird es nicht gerne hören, aber Haare schneiden können die hier auch. Der Preis war 650 Rs. (= ca. 11,00 EUR) inkl. Waschen, Kopfmassage und Trinkgeld, das finde ich für einen Hotelpreis ganz OK. Magnus, der Kollege von Polysius, berichtete, sein Fahrer habe den Preis in einer der zahlreichen Frieseursalons entlang der Straße mit 50 Rs. angegeben. Das ist zwar konkurrenzlos günstig, das Gesundheitsrisiko kann ich aber noch nicht einschätzen, bzw. noch traue ich mich nicht.
Während ich dies hier schreibe, hat ein Arbeitskollege meines Schwiegervaters angerufen, Mr. Virendra, der in Mumbai wohnt. Die beiden haben sich letzte Woche in Singapur getroffen, und Uli hat ihm ein Päckchen für mich mitgegeben (ich denke, u.a. mit den langersehnten Brillenputztüchern). Ich treffe ihn morgen im Uhde-Büro, wo er auch einen Termin hat.
Die Zusammenarbeit mit meinem indischen Gegenüber, Mr. Deshpande, läuft auch absolut reibungslos; wir sind in vielen Dingen auf einer Wellenlänge, und auch persönlich verstehen wir uns sehr gut. Der Umgang ist komplett offen miteinander, ich denke, es gibt keine versteckten Spielchen hinten herum. Ich hoffe, das bleibt auch so, wenn wir irgendwann in die heiße Phase kommen, wo wir stärker als jetzt von den Terminen gejagt werden.
Auffällig ist nur (bei ihm und auch bei vielen anderen Indern), dass sie ein anderes Hierarchiedenken als wir haben. Während ich viele Dinge alleine entscheide (weil ich letztlich auch dafür verantwortlich bin), möchten sich die Inder nach Möglichkeit von ihrem Vorgesetzten absichern lassen.
Bei unserem Indien-Seminar in Dortmund wurde uns vermittelt, dass es in Indien für nahezu alle Aufgaben immer jemanden gibt, der sie für einen erledigt (leider nicht die Arbeit, für die ich hier bin ;-) ); dazu soll es einen ausgeprägten Hang zur Bürokratie geben. Hierzu ein Beispiel aus dem Büroalltag: wenn ich eine Kopie machen möchte, muss ich zu einem kleinen Verschlag gehen, in dem ein Kopierer steht. Dieser Verschlag ist nicht viel größer als der Kopierer selbst, trotzdem hat noch jemand einen Stuhl hineingequetscht, auf dem auch tatsächlich jemand sitzt, nämlich der "copyboy". Ihm händige ich mein Original aus, und er macht für mich die Kopie(n). Die Wartezeit kann/muss ich dazu nutzen, eine Tabelle mit folgenden Inhalten auszufüllen:
- Name (d.h. meiner),
- Anzahl und Größe der Originale,
- Anzahl und Größe der Kopien (als Zahl),
- Anzahl der Kopien (ausgeschrieben),
- Kostenstelle,
- Unterschrift.
Diese Prozedur ist übrigens unabhängig von der Anzahl der Kopien, d.h. auch für eine (1) DIN-A4 Kopie ist das beschriebene Verfahren einzuhalten.
